We are seeking to appoint a postdoctoral Research Associate to study the role of taxon-specific proteins in salamander limb regeneration and development. This project applies molecular cell biological and genetic approaches to embryonic, larval and adult salamanders.
The work will be undertaken at the Research Department of Structural and Molecular Biology at UCL, which together with Birkbeck College , forms part of the Institute of Structural and Molecular Biology.
This post is funded by an MRC Programme Grant for two years in the first instance.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual who can work both independently as well as harmoniously within a small group of investigators. Applicants must have a relevant PhD in the genetics of development or regeneration in a model organism, such as drosophila. Candidates must have scientific problem solving abilities; the ability to abstract a problem and devise a novel and elegant solutions.
