Postdoctoral Fellowship in Quantitative Imaging
The Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation in collaboration with the Gilbert Family Neurofibromatosis Institute at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC has an opening for a Postdoctoral Fellowship in quantitative image analysis.  The fellow will design and develop software-based methodology dedicated to volumetric measurements of the optic nerves and visual pathway in MRI data from children with tumors.
The fellow will work closely with Principal Investigators from Bioengineering (Linguraru) and Neuro-ophthalmology (Avery) in order to understand the importance of relevant imaging and clinical features that contribute to the project goals. The fellow is expected to work independently on the project by conducting the image, volumetric and statistical analysis and manuscript preparation.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Engineering, Computer Science and/or Applied Physics/Mathematics with demonstrated experience in medical image processing research.  Other required qualifications are strong programming, good communication skills and peer-reviewed publications.
The fellowship is initially for one year to establish sufficient data and publications to produce a competitive junior faculty or multi-center collaborative grant.
