A postdoctoral research position in cancer biology is immediately available at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. The candidate must have a Ph.D. in the life sciences and extensive laboratory experience in molecular cell biology and pre-clinical mouse models. The candidate should be highly motivated, work well with others, and have an outstanding publication record. Experience in mouse modeling is REQUIRED. Experience in bioinformatics analysis (expression profiling) would be beneficial, though not required.
The Jiralerspong lab is in the Lester & Sue Smith Breast Center, Dan L. Duncan Cancer Center, Baylor College of Medicine. Our research focuses on understanding cancer cell metabolism, with the ultimate goal of improving the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer patients. The candidate will work on state-of-the-art primary human tumor (patient-derived xenograft, PDX) in mouse models of breast cancer. The candidate will have access to state of the art equipment and facilities in the Breast Center and Baylor. The Breast Center faculty are internationally recognized for their translational efforts in breast cancer treatment and resistance. This is an outstanding opportunity for someone interested in having a major impact on the clinical care of breast cancer, and interested in a career in academic science/medicine.
