Optimization of spatial resolution for the analysis of physiological variables in small animals - Data acquisition and interpretation in micro-PET : Italy
Knowledge of Italian language. Applications and CVs sent by e-mail are not accepted. To apply http://www.unige.it/concorsi/assricerca/ Extension of PET (positron emission tomography) imaging in small animals became a milestone for studies of kinetic and dynamic of innovative drugs. Carestream Health is the owner of a commercial microPET system (Albira), installed within our campus. Optimizing radioactive detection and improving spatial resolution of this tool would permit to study drugs on cancer in the initial phase, when small size of lesions and models complicate its study. Research objectives are:• To optimize the spatial resolution of the instrument.• To apply the computational method in mouse models of cancer to estimate physiological variables represented in images and in 3d maps.• To check the potential of the developed software in the clinical setting to improve its commercialization
