A 1-year postdoc position is available at the Center for Catalysis, Department of Chemistry, Aarhus University, Denmark, from 15th August 2013 until 14th August 2014.
The Center for Catalysis aims to develop synthetic strategies and methodologies within asymmetric catalysis, with main focus on the use of small organic molecules as privileged chiral catalysts (organocatalysis).
The position is to be filled by an applicant with particular interest in asymmetric synthesis and catalysis. The applicant should hold a PhD degree in organic chemistry with accompanying relevant research experience in both organic synthesis and computational chemistry. Applicants having a solid background in the field of asymmetric organocatalysis will be favored. Experience with computational chemistry in combination analytical methods and apparatus, such as CSP-GC, CSP-UPCC and NMR is an advantage. It is further expected that the applicant possesses good creativity and instinct for research and development.
