4 Positions are available. Renewable up to 3 years. There is a possibility being employed for full time research scientist in a start-up company after 3 years.
Requirement

• Finished PhD in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with specialization in organic synthesis or large scale material synthesis
• Experience in synthesizing organic semiconducting materials are highly desirable
• Work experience in industry and/or in the field of Organic Electronic would be an advantage
• Experience in synthesis of photo-crosslinkable/thermal crosslinkable monomer is highly desirable
• Experience in supervision of PhD students
• Fluent English skills (verbal and written as proven in journal publications)
• Proactive and flexible personality
• Very good communication skills
• Independent and team oriented working style
• Very good knowledge and experience in analytical characterization (NMR, DSC, ATR-FTIR, Raman, UV/VIS, CV, HPLC)
• Experience in working interdisciplinary research projects in the areas Chemistry-Physics-Material Science are an advantage
• 2 position available for those who has experience in synthesizing more than 50g of organic semiconducting materials.
• 2 positions available for those who has experience in synthesizing at ~ 1g of organic semiconducting materials
• Exhibit entrepreneur and leadership skills
  Responsibility
• Supervise PhD students in organic chemistry
• Synthesize a wide range of solution processable OLED materials
• Advice the PI on the strategic direction of high performance organic semiconducting materials
• Use EU-grid computing to calculate HOMO/ LUMO level, triplet energy of organic semiconducting materials
• Purification of materials at the highest quality
• Drafting patents
• Engage with organic semiconducting industries locally and overseas
• Engage in drafting business plan and proposal

Annual assessment is based on Key Indicator Performance Indicator (KPI) as below:

• Synthesize at least 6 new novel materials annually at grams scale
• One patent annually
• One high impact factor paper (IF >5) annually as first author
• Satisfactory supervision of PhD students
• Satisfactory engagement with the organic electronics industries
