Postdoctoral position in Quantitative proteomics for disease biomarkers 2 years
A postdoctoral position is available at the Turku Centre for Biotechnology as part of the Finland Distinguished Professor Program (http://www.fidipro.fi/) with the collaborative research project of Professor David Goodlett of the University of Maryland, Baltimore and Professor Riitta Lahesmaa at the Turku Centre for Biotechnology, Turku Finland (www.btk.fi). Our research group belongs to the Academy of Finland Centre of Excellence in Molecular Systems Immunology and Physiology (http://www.symmys.fi/).
The research focuses on the application of mass spectrometry based proteomics in the analysis of clinical samples from collaborative research projects investigating predictive markers of type-1 diabetes. Using the latest generation of mass spectrometry technologies, together with recently described methodology that extend detectable dynamic range of complex proteomes, discovery and validation methods will be developed.
We are looking for exceptionally motivated candidates with a proven track record and solid knowledge and working experience with the latest generation mass spectrometry technologies. Prior experience in data analysis of complex datasets and know-how in quantitative proteomic approaches as well as fractionation technology are essential. Working proficiency in a modern computer language, e.g. python or R, will be an advantage.
The position is initially for 2 years with a possibility for an extension.
The salary is in accordance with the University salary system (for teaching and research personnel) level 5-6 (Senior Researcher), where the work specific salary component is between 2820- 3293
