We are seeking a Research Investigator to perform and supervise laboratory studies examining the molecular mechanisms of ischemic brain injury and neuroprotection. Primary responsibilities include design, planning execution and interpretation of experiments, and supervising laboratory personnel and students. Studies involve primary neuron culture models of excitotoxicity and oxygen/glucose deprivation, and rodent models of cardiac arrest and transient forebrain ischemia. Experimental techniques include primary neuron culture, plasmid vector cloning, viral vector transduction, protein chemistry, histology, immunohistochemistry, fluorescence microscopy, and vital microscopy. Responsibilities will also include daily oversight of laboratory projects and personnel, training personnel and students; and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
PhD in relevant scientific field and minimum 1 to 3 years post-doctoral training in neuroscience research. Track record of research productivity including first author original research publications.
