The job concerns an experimental study of relevant parameters governing the spin transition of new thermo-switchable materials, analyze and test them for defined applications.
The first step is to select, synthesize and characterize in detail spin crossover materials before and after shaping. The second step concerns the analyzis of their spin crossover properties.
The project being applied, the selected candidate must be motivated to work in contact with the industrial world.
The successful candidate will work under the direction of Prof. Dr. Yann Garcia. His group focuses on the synthesis, characterization and study of new molecular materials and MOFs with spin transitions and interesting optical properties (thermochromism, photochromism, fluorescence). Typically, knowledge and practice of inorganic chemistry, coordination chemistry and synthetic skills of organic ligands are useful to work in his group. Experimental skills particularly in Mössbauer spectroscopy is very useful too.
Candidate profile:
• You hold a doctoral degree with a background in SCO research.
If this is not the case, no need to apply!
• You are a chemist with synthetic and organisation skills
• You have experience in report/papers writing and presentation of scientific results
• You use with ease Mössbauer spectroscopy, DSC and other analysis methods of thermo-switchable compounds.
• You are creative and have a great motivation for research communication and development
• You enjoy working in a team and like to share your knowledge with team members.
