Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Considerable
Considerable skill in experimental physics focused on synthesis and characterization of complex oxide thin films. Considerable hands-on experience with ultra-high vacuum techniques, thin film depositions, particularly Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE). Considerable understanding of the physical concepts that can be applied to a broad range of materials and the ability to efficiently alter the experiment design onto desirable class of materials. Considerable proficiency in written and oral communication, in order to present scientific results.
Other
The candidate will develop techniques and instrumentation associated with real time studies of materials synthesis. Successful candidates should have a Ph.D. in physics, applied physics, or related discipline (received within the last three years or expected within the next six months), with considerable knowledge in synthesis of novel materials.
