Multiple postdoctoral associate positions are available for enthusiastic and hard-working individuals interested in studying the mechanisms and physiological relevance of inhibitory G protein signaling in neurons and cardiomyocytes. The Wickman lab is a well-funded research group focused understanding the molecular and anatomic basis of complex behaviors linked to addiction, mood, and cognition, along with the autonomic regulation of cardiac output. The group embraces multidisciplinary approaches including techniques in slice and cultured cell electrophysiology, single-channel recording, protein biochemistry, behavioral analysis, mouse genetics, viral manipulations, live-cell imaging, and emerging pharmacology. Outside-the-box thinking is welcome and encouraged. A Ph.D. in biomedical sciences or biophysics is required. Candidates with prior training in electrophysiological approaches will be given special consideration.
