Position: A one year post-doctoral researcher position is available at the University of Antwerp (Applied Data Mining research groupwww.applieddatamining.com). The project’s topic is “New opportunities in online advertising for publishers” and is conducted with five other partners, including one of the largest Belgian newspaper publishers. University of Antwerp will be develop and apply new predictive modeling techniques for such big data.
Candidate: A strong candidate with a PhD in the domain of predictive modeling is looked for, who is able to start in 2013 (earliest starting date September 1st).
Summary of the project:
Very rich data is available at publishers’ side on their viewers which currently remains largely untapped. By analyzing and mining this data in a privacy-friendly manner, publishers could be able to find relevant patterns on their viewers which can be used to (among others) accurately predict which individuals are interested in a certain product or brand. The whole Flemish advertising ecosystem can be optimized as advertising will be more relevant for every surfer.
