NUFFIELD DEPARTMENT OF ORTHOPAEDICS, RHEUMATOLOGY AND MUSCULOSKELETAL SCIENCES
Grade 7: Salary in the range £29,541 – £36,298 per annum
We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join the new laboratory of Professor Michael Dustin, who recently moved from the New York University to the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, University of Oxford.
You will study cytokine integration in human cells at the level of the immunological synapse and the effects of behaviour and function in health and autoimmune disorders. The project is focused on applying highly advanced imaging techniques including TIRF microscopy and supported planar bilayer system. You will also handle and characterize clinical patient samples and carry our quantitative analysis as part of the project.
You will hold a PhD or equivalent degree with a strong background in immunology and/or molecular biology and biochemistry and have extensive experience in human immunology techniques as well as characterization of different T cell subsets. You will also have experience in confocal microscopy and advanced fluorescence imaging. Experience with supported planar bilayer system as well as analysing patient samples in clinical trials would be desirable.
This is a full time appointment fixed for 3 years.
