Applications are invited for a post-doctoral research fellowship based in the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences, the University of Oxford. This post is fixed term for three years, and is funded by the Wellcome Trust and will be based in the neural injury group under the supervision of Dr DLH Bennett. The theme of this successful work programme is to understand how the signalling between different cells types contributes to the injury response and can be manipulated in order to promote nerve repair. A variety of techniques will be used including the generation and characterisation of transgenic animals, cell culture and models of nerve injury. The neural injury group (http://www.ndcn.ox.ac.uk/departments/NDA/research/neural-injury-group) consists of both pre-clinical and clinical researchers performing multi-disciplinary translational research in the field of nerve injury in the world class environment of the University of Oxford.
