‘Predicting Sensitivity to PI3K/mTOR Inhibition in Malignant Mesothelioma’
The Medical Research Council Toxicology Unit is an internationally renowned institution delivering field-changing mechanistic insights into toxicology and disease.
We are looking to appoint a Postdoctoral Scientist to join the Molecular Mechanisms of Cell Death group led by Prof. Marion MacFarlane to work in collaboration with Prof. Dean A Fennell (University of Leicester & Leicester University Hospitals) on a project funded by the British Lung Foundation on Asbestos-related Disease. You will carry out innovative research exploring the molecular mechanisms that regulate sensitivity to PI3K/mTOR inhibition in Malignant Mesothelioma. It is expected that this will lead to publications in high impact journals.
You should have a PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology or a related discipline with significant experience of PI3K/mTOR signalling and apoptosis in the context of cancer and have published articles in international peer-reviewed journals.
This is a three year fixed-term position with a starting salary in the range £28,083 – £28,984 per annum.
