The Polymer Competence Center Leoben GmbH (PCCL) is a cooperative, non-university research organisation in the field of polymer science and engineering. PCCL has its headquarters in Leoben, and branches in Graz and Vienna. PCCL is conducting research projects in joint cooperation with scientific partners and partner companies, aiming at a knowledge transfer to industry. Moreover, the continuous development of the research competences of PCCL and its scientific partners is a central goal of PCCL, together with increasing the competitiveness of the partner companies both on national and international markets.
We aim to recruit a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Interface of Electrical Engineering and Material Science. Specific job responsibilities include:
• Preparation and characterization of functional polymer composites for high-voltage applications
• Application-oriented testing in close cooperation with partner companies (e.g. disruptive discharge voltage determinations, dielectric measurements, lifetime tests, etc.)
• Close collaboration with material scientists for the optimization of novel polymer-based materials for high-voltage applications.
• Active involvement in the selection of materials for the construction of functional composites.
• Literature und patent research in this field.
Basic Qualifications
• Ph.D. preferably in the field of material science, composite technology or high voltage engineering
• Profound knowledge in dielectric characterization and testing of materials, preferably in the field of polymer-based composites
• Personal initiative, skills for self-organisation and teamwork, effective communication skills with the ability to interact well with partner companies and other researchers
• Experience with interdisciplinary research
