A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available at the Department of Radiation Oncology, Stanford University. Research focus is on a novel image guidance system that provides precision targeting for radiation therapy using robotics and ultrasound imaging. The successful applicant will work in close collaboration with multiple departments at Stanford University, ultrasound industry researchers, and researchers at a medical device start-up company.
The postdoctoral position offers additional opportunities for medical physics training through activities associated with a CAMPEP -accredited medical physics residency program and various continuing education courses.
Candidates with a doctoral degree in Medical Physics, Physics, Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering are welcome to apply. Expertise in one of the following areas is a must: interventional image guidance, ultrasound imaging and guidance, image-guided application development, and/or medical image processing and analysis. Expertise in computer programming (C/C++/C# and Matlab) is necessary and demonstrated aptitude in experimentation is essential. Experience with any of the following is desired: OpenGL/DirectX, Qt, ITK / VTK , GPU programming, DICOM protocols, MevisLab, Python.
