A postdoctoral position is available to study telomere biology in the laboratory of Dr Carolyn Price at the University of Cincinnati. The research will focus on the role of the recently identified CTC1-STN1-TEN1 (CST) complex in telomere replication and general genomic stability. The overall goal is to understand how CST dysfunction leads human disease. Price lab is using cell and molecular biology approaches (including human somatic cell gene disruption and CrispR technology) to dissect the various roles of CST in telomere replication and recovery from genome-wide replication stress.
The current position is funded by an Institutional T32 Training Program in Cancer Therapeutics sponsored by the National Cancer Institute. The objective of this program is to train promising cancer researchers in the actions of therapeutic agents used in the treatment of cancer. Trainees receive education in Cancer Biology and participate in career development programs in addition to their lab-based research training.
The University of Cincinnati is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer. Women, People of Color, and persons with a disability are encouraged to apply. Candidates who can contribute to our goal of increasing diversity within our community are encouraged to apply and identify their qualifications in this area.
