The Estelle and Daniel Maggin Department of Neurology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai New York, New York is offering a full time position as Postdoctoral Research Fellow.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering or MR physics and should have knowledge and experience in both task-based fMRI and resting state BOLD functional connectivity analysis. Experience with fMRI analysis software packages, presentation software, strong computer programming skills (e.g., in C/C++ & especially MATLAB) are highly desirable. Experience with applied mathematics and graph theory analysis would be a distinct advantage.
The newly constructed Hess Center for Science and Medicine at Mount Sinai hosts
both state-of-the-art and cutting-edge imaging equipment including 1.5 Tesla, 3.0 Tesla, integrated MR/PET,PET/CT and human 7.0 Tesla (Siemens Medical Solutions, Enlargen, Germany). The Hess Center has a very active interdisciplinary research team consisting of people from engineering, physics, chemistry, biology, and neuroscience backgrounds.
The post-holder will be expected to develop novel image post-processing, computational
and statistics methods to analyze fMRI data from specific groups of neurological patients
in collaboration with clinicians and investigators involved in real-time fMRI, PET
imaging, EEG and rehabilitation. The Lab has a strong interest in developing new
algorithms for integrating neuroimaging modalities, laboratory and behavioral measures
in neurological diseases.
