Description
A postdoctoral position is available in the Pitteloud Lab in the Department of Endocrinology. We investigate the neuroendocrine basis of human reproduction by combining clinical medicine, human genetics, bioinformatics, molecular biology and animal models to elucidate the role of FGF21 signaling as a link between reproduction and metabolism. We are looking for a highly motivated scientist with a PhD in molecular biology, genetics or a related discipline to lead this project. The research will entail reproductive and metabolic phenotyping of mice, biochemical and cell-based assays, ligand-receptor interactions, functional genomics, and analyses of human mutations. Additional responsibilities will include supervision of students and technicians, participation in grant writing, and drafting of publications. Qualified individuals must demonstrate excellent bench skills, experience with mice, solid foundation in metabolism and/or reproductive biology, working knowledge of genetics, and past research productivity. The candidate must be able to work independently as well as part of a group.
