An externally-funded, full-time postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. The research in our lab currently focuses on the regulation and function of the circadian clock. The clock serves as a fundamental mechanism to safeguard our well-being by orchestrating a wide variety of essential cellular and physiological processes. One particular interest in the lab is a circadian clock regulation of the immune system. Based on our recent exciting observations connecting the clock and inflammation, we intend to investigate the underlying molecular mechanism using integrated biochemical, genetic and genomic approaches. Success in these studies will open a new field of research with long-term biomedical impact.
Highly motivated candidates with a Ph.D. or an equivalent degree, preferably obtained within the past two years, are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate should have a demonstrated publication record and strong background in immunology. The successful applicant will be working in a highly active research department at a major medical school located within the renowned Texas Medical Center (TMC). The city of Houston also offers a comfortable lifestyle and ample career opportunities.
