A senior postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr Scott Brady, Professor and Head of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Illinois Chicago to study cellular and molecular neurobiology with a focus on axonal transport and adult-onset neurodegenerative diseases, such as Huntington’s, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease as well as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. Expertise in relevant areas including live cell imaging, primary neuronal cultures, and molecular biology is preferred. Requirements: Individuals holding a Ph.D. and/or M.D. are invited to apply. We seek a highly motivated and creative scientist with a penchant for intellectual rigor, with two or more years of postdoctoral experience. The applicant should possess excellent communication skills and be able to take responsibility for the execution and direction of the research as well as working with students. Candidates familiar with animal models of neurodegenerative diseases, state-of-the-art microscopy, gene expression analysis and other modern cell biological approaches to the study of neuronal function are especially welcomed.
