Fixed term post on Grade 7: £29,541 to £32,267 (starting salary on one of the first four points on the scale)
In 2013 the University of Oxford in partnership with the Universities of Cambridge and Bristol was awarded £2.5 million over 4 years to establish a British Heart Foundation Centre of Regenerative Medicine (BHF CRM). This is one of three national research hubs specialising in cardiovascular regeneration funded by the BHF.
An opportunity is offered for a suitably qualified candidate to work as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in one of the Oxford groups on a project (www.cardioscience.ox.ac.uk/bhf-centre-of-regenerative-medicine) which contributes to one of the main research themes of the Centre:

Project Title Pathways activating cardiac progenitor potential and proliferation during
zebrafish heart regeneration
This post will be funded until 30 September 2017 in the first instance by the British Hearth Foundation UK CRM Centre award. The post would be ideally suited to a postdoctoral scientist with experience in working with animal models, tissue and cell culture, microscopy and standard molecular and biochemical techniques.
You will be responsible for the progression of your individual project, utilising all laboratory techniques, protocols, methodologies and equipment as required to complete studies; and the provision of samples to assist in other projects within the research group.
You will have PhD/DPhil or equivalent in a relevant area of research, and a background in developmental biology, stem cell biology and/or cardiovascular sciences. Experience of working with animal models is essential.
You will initially be recruited through the Department of Physiology, Anatomy & Genetics, Sherrington Building, Parks Road, Oxford OX1 3PT, but will be based within the Department that hosts the principal investigator (and their research team) of the selected research project.
