          The 21st Century belongs to photonics and harnessing light will be the key to life changing technologies, from energy to security, from biotechnologies to low-cost precision manufacturing, from the internet to quantum-level information processing. Many important industries, from chip manufacturing and lighting, health care and life sciences, to space, defence and the automotive sectors rely on the same fundamental mastery of light. Today photonics represents a market of hundreds billion dollars and employ millions of people worldwide.

          On 14th December 2012 Nanyang Technological University (NTU), one of the world-leading research universities, has officially opened the new Research Centre for Disruptive Photonic Technologies (CDPT). The Centre is generously funded by the Ministry of Education in Singapore and operates in close collaboration with international research leaders from the USA, Europe and Australia.           We currently accept applications for

          • 1 Postdoctoral Research Fellow position in Nearfield Spectroscopy of Plasmonic Nanostructures

          Working for the CDPT will provide exceptional personal development opportunities in a vibrant international environment.

          Postdoctoral Research Fellow will assume the role of Project Leader, from whom we expect creative and inquisitive mind and conceptual thinking. Candidates shall possess a PhD degree or equivalent and demonstrate exceptional research track records in the field of physics, electrical engineering, material science or other relevant disciplines and have strong background in electromagnetics/optics. Prior experience in any of the following areas is highly desirable: near-field spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, optical study of plasmonic nanostructures, fabrication of nanostructures using EBL and FIB, growth of graphene and other 2D materials using CVD.

          Postdoctoral research position is immediately available and is offered for the initial period of one or two years with a possible extension, subject to review. Competitive salary is negotiable depending on experience. No application deadline is set as the posts will be filled upon availability of suitable candidates.
