Successfully finishing your PhD and looking for a postdoctoral position? One postdoctoral position is available starting earliest 1st February 2014 for 2 + 2 years. We are looking for a talented, highly motivated scientist to join our young Effectomics research group http://www.gmi.oeaw.ac.at/research-groups/armin-djamei-1. Working with a functional genomic approach on plant pathogenic fungi and grasses you should have broad and extensive wet lab experience. Bioinformatic skills and experience with protoplast systems are highly appreciated. The work will comprise establishing various large scale screens to elucidate effector functions as well as plant sided work with the model grass system Brachypodium distachyon. The successful candidate will have the chance to work in a scientifically highly stimulating and very well equipped environment in the Gregor Mendel Institute of Molecular Plant Biology (GMI) (http://www.gmi.oeaw.ac.at). The GMI is embedded in the Vienna Biocenter Campus, a research cluster in the center of Vienna and home to over 1,700 researchers from over 40 countries (http://www.viennabiocenter.org/). English is the working language.
