We are seeking a full-time research assistant to join Professor Torr’s new research group at the Department of Engineering Science (central Oxford). The post is funded by EPSRC and is fixed-term for 2 years from 1 February 2014.
The topic of the research is semantic scene segmentation using Markov random field energy models, following on from the group’s recent research in this area. You will be responsible for the development of the theory and implementation of novel computer vision and learning algorithms to on this topic. You will also be responsible for preparing research reports and presentations and documenting software.
You should possess a doctorate, or be near completion of a doctorate, in computer vision or machine learning, together with a strong publication record at principal computer vision conferences (CVPR, ECCV, ICCV and BMVC), with a background in graphical models, combinatorial optimisation, segmentation and machine learning.
