The Supramolecular Photochemistry Group at the Department of Chemistry and Bioengineering of the Tampere University of Technology has an opening for Postdoctoral Researcher. We are seeking excellent candidates for one of the two following areas: Area 1. Ultra-fast transient absorption spectroscopy (pump-probe) of complex donor-acceptor compounds, molecular films and hybrid organic-semiconductor structures or Area 2. Design, fabrication and testing of hybrid organic-semiconductor nanostructures for solar cell applications.

Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and flexible individual capable of instructing the graduate students and to work in close cooperation with other research teams within the group. The successful candidate must hold an applicable doctoral degree and possess the competence to pursue independent scientific work and the teaching skills needed to perform the duties of the position. Experience in studying and working abroad and contacts to international research will be appreciated. The position is intended for recently graduated post-doc researchers, so that they may gain further experience and advance their careers. The expertise requirements related to the areas mentioned above are: Area 1. Practical experience in time resolved spectroscopy (preferably pump-probe), ability to work with, maintain and develop spectroscopy instruments; good understanding of photophysics/photochemistry in condense media; Area 2. Previous experience in dye sensitized or solid organic solar cells; experimental skills in solar cell characterization (e.g. I-V and impedance measurements, spectroscopy and microscopy studies).
