Postdoctoral Researcher

This position is intended for researchers experienced in and/or interested in health policy, health disparities, community organizing, community based participatory research, obesity, and the influence of social context on health and well-being in communities of color, and other related public health issues. This Postdoctoral Fellow is a 11-month appointment and is eligible for benefits. The successful candidate will have experience working with a diverse range of stakeholder and community groups, work independently on multiple projects, and be well grounded in community psychology theory, research and application. Successful candidates will also have excellent quantitative, qualitative and applied research skills, strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team setting. Candidates will be expected to work with the research team in the support data collection with community groups, analysis of data, preparation of foundation technical reports, supervise research assistants, and prepare articles for publication.
Experience:
• Demonstrated proficiency in mixed methods research, planning research projects, research design, and development of survey and focus group tools;
• Demonstrated proficiency in quantitative data analysis via SPSS with a strong background in survey analysis;
• Demonstrated proficiency in qualitative data coding and analysis;
• A proven high level of organizational and communication skills;
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team setting;
• Demonstrated ability to conduct the administrative tasks necessary to create and maintain research data files in compliance with institutional and scientific confidentiality standards;
• Demonstrated experience preparing presentations and research findings for conferences or stakeholder meetings;
• Demonstrated experience preparing and submitting manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals;
• Ability to work collaboratively in conjunction with a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
Required Education:
• The successful candidate will have completed a doctorate in psychology, public health, or other social science disciplines;
