A 18 month post-doctoral position is offered by FORTH/ICE-HT in the frame of “ARISTEIA II”, a Programme funded by GSRT of the Ministry of Education of Greece. The project is entitled “GRAPHENE PHYSICS IN THE TIME DOMAIN AND APPLICATION TO 3D OPTICAL MEMORIES”. The programme of work involves: i) the investigation of physical properties of graphene using optical spectroscopic techniques in the time domain, and ii) the development of a novel three dimensional optical data storage memory based on graphene in which the foreseen storage capacity is expected to be three orders of magnitude greater than those achieved in conventional DVD disks.
We particularly welcome a Physicist or a Material Scientist with proven expertise in optical spectroscopy or nanotechnology. Other related disciplines will also be considered. The eligible candidate should have a PhD at the time of contract commencement.
The successful candidate will be part of a highly cross-disciplinary research team. The team has worked successfully for many years on various aspects of carbon based nanomaterials and more recently conducted pioneered work on the physicomechanical properties of graphene.
