The newly established research group for Molecular Virology of Human Infectious Diseases at the University Clinic Tübingen, Germany (Dr. Michael Schindler), invites applications for a
Postdoctoral Scientist in Molecular Virology
The group has a focus on the interaction of Human Immunodeficiency virus and Hepatitis C virus with its host. The position is initially temporary with the possibility of extension.
The lab has established techniques to visualize the dynamics of viral infections by state of the art fluorescence microscopy, therefore experience with live cell imaging and data handling would be an asset. Furthermore, we have set up novel techniques to identify and characterize viral protein interactions and to screen for interfering substances. BSL-3 experience is mandatory.
We expect a strong background in:
• molecular virology
• protein biochemistry
• live cell imaging
This is an opportunity to work together with a productive team in a highly stimulating environment and to perform research on exciting topics.
