Description
In recent years mass spectrometry has revolutionized life science discovery and many of the breakthroughs in medical and biological research have relied on data generated by this technique. Leading institutes in their fields, University of Gothenburg (glycomics) and SIB (bioinformatics) have now joined forces to make progress in the field of glycobioinformatics. They are opening these positions to develop high throughput analysis and storage of clinical glycomic data as well as qualitative and quantitative evaluation of results. The basis for the research would be the in-house public database UniCarb-DB (www.unicarb-DB.com) and resources within SIB for MS data analysis (http:/javaprotlib.sourceforge.net) and glycan databases (www.unicarbkb.org ; http://sugarbind.expasy.org).
