A postdoctoral position is available immediately to join Sylvie Doublié’s research group at the University of Vermont. Our laboratory uses X-ray crystallography and other biochemical and biophysical techniques to study the molecular mechanisms of mammalian base excision repair and DNA replication.
A Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics, or closely related field is required. Experience in recombinant protein expression, purification and protein biochemistry is desirable. Prior experience in crystallographic techniques is not an absolute requirement. Successful candidates will have strong communication skills and must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
The University of Vermont is located in Burlington, the state's largest city and a vibrant urban environment. Burlington is situated on the eastern shore of Lake Champlain, and nestled between the Adirondacks and the Green Mountains. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kkf4zXqZi7Y
