The University of Leeds is one of the leading Universities in the UK and the School of Food Science and Nutrition is the most highly rated in food in the UK. The research group of Professor Gary Williamson focuses on dietary phytochemicals including polyphenols and phenolic acids in foods, their metabolism and health effects, and their effects on energy metabolism.
The post is part of a prestigious European Research Council Advanced Grant awarded to Professor Williamson; “POLYTRUE? What is the mechanism of the true chronic effect of dietary polyphenols?” and is available in the first instance for a fixed term of 36 months.
You should possess a PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or closely related subject along with relevant experience in protein biochemistry and a high level of technical competence in molecular and cellular biology techniques.
University Grade 7 (£30,728 - £36,661 p.a.) Please note, due to funding limitations it will not be possible to appoint above £ 32,590 p.a. on the scale
