• Join a team of multi-disciplinary, world leading scientists
• Develop your skills in research, planning, management and communication
• Join CSIRO – Australia’s premier science research organisation
The Position:
CSIRO are currently seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to join their Brisbane team. As the Postdoctoral Fellow you will apply your skills in insect ecology to inform research questions, and explore and analyse data dealing with insect populations across space and time, including habitat occupancy, their movement between habitats, colonization rates, and multiple spatial and temporal scales. You will identify the impact of diverse habitats in agricultural landscape mosaics, especially focusing on cotton systems. The project will combine a desk top analysis of crop scouting reports with field evaluation and experimentation.
With support from your supervisor, specifically you will:
• Plan and participate in all stages of the scientific investigation and communication including experimental protocols, data collection, analysis, target journals, and drafting and submitting manuscripts and articles.
• Undertake experimental and/or observational research activities.
• Recognise opportunities for innovation and generate new theoretical perspectives by pursuing new ideas and approaches and networking with scientific colleagues across a range of disciplines.
• Liaise with cotton grower collaborators to determine their willingness and needs to participate in the project.
