The Roche Innovation Center Zurich (Roche Glycart AG) is active in the research and development of new potent antibody-based products for the treatment of cancer and autoimmune disease. The Position
As a Roche Postdoctoral Fellow (RPF), the successful candidate will receive scientific mentoring from both Roche and its academic partners and gain valuable research experience from both academic and industrial perspectives. The project focuses on new types of cancer vaccines building on the versatility of nucleic acid immunization as well as antigen presentation technologies of coded antigens. The position will be based partly at the Roche Innovation Center Zurich and the University of Ulm (Laboratory of Prof. Dr. Reinhold Schirmbeck) and supported by additional collaborators in the US and Latvia.
In this position you will:
• Perform cutting-edge research in cancer immunology and cancer vaccines
• Be responsible for experimental work, data analysis and detailed written records and notebooks
• Be expected to publish data in top tiered journals, attend and present at international meetings and collaborate across groups in the research unit
The position is sponsored by the Roche Postdoctoral Fellowship Program and is initially limited to two years.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist with a demonstrated track record in basic research and interested in pursuing an academic-style postdoc in an industry setting. Your further qualifications are:
• a PhD degree (obtained no longer than 4 years ago) in a relevant field
• strong background in T-cell Immunology and experience in tumor Immunology
• expertise in animal work and experience in molecular cloning and molecular biology
• a broad-based interest on cancer vaccines
• a good publication record
• you are well-organized, are able to solve problems creatively and you have a good sense of urgency
• excellent oral and written communication skills in English are required
