San Diego Biomedical Research Institute (SDBRI) is a nonprofit scientific research organization located in the heart of the San Diego research community. The mission of SDBRI is to conduct fundamental biomedical research to better understand human disease, and to use this information to contribute to the treatment and prevention of diabetes, cancer, AIDS and complications of chronic disease. The Principal Investigators at SDBRI are accomplished scientists and well-known and recognized in their areas of expertise.
has an opportunity immediately available for a Postdoctoral Fellow. The Postdoctoral Fellow will be a member of a small team of researchers in the laboratory of Dr. Joanna Davies. The main goals of the project are; 1) to identify immune biomarkers of disease progression in patients with cancer and cancer-associated wasting syndrome; and 2) to better understand the mechanisms of cancer-associated wasting syndrome using mouse models of cancer.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. and at least two years of relevant Postdoctoral experience. Candidates must also possess a strong theoretical and practical knowledge of cellular immunology (preferably human and mouse) and cancer research. Prior experience with animal handling is required. Prior experience with Flow Cytometry, molecular biology, and sterile tissue culture technique would be a benefit.
