Postdoctoral Research Associate in DNA repair and genome stability : Oxford, United Kingdom
We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Associate to undertake an analysis of how proteins that contain poly-ADP ribose (PAR) interaction domains regulate DNA repair in the model organism Dictyostelium.
Applicants will have or be in the process of completing a PhD in a relevant subject. They must have proven experience in performing bioinformatics analysis to identify and characterise PAR binding domains in silico. They should also have experience of generating Dictyostelium strains disrupted in DNA repair genes and using molecular and cellular biology techniques to assess their ability to repair and tolerate DNA damage. Candidates must also possess good communication and presentation skills; and illustrate they are able to work collaboratively within a team towards shared aims and goals.
This full-time post is funded by Cancer Research UK for up to 3 months in the first instance and is based at the Department of Biochemistry, South Parks Road, Oxford, OX1 3QU.
