Nanotherapeutics for antibiotic resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis
A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the Mycobacterial Genetics Unit, headed by Pr Brigitte
Gicquel, at the Institut Pasteur in Paris.
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow. He/she will work on an EC funded project
called NAREB. The project's main objective is the optimization of several nanoformulations of
antibacterial therapeutics in order to improve the therapy of multi-drug resistant tuberculosis and
MRSA infections in European MDR patients . The applicant will study the activity of
nanoparticles containing antimicrobials against tuberculosis, with a particular focus on bacterial and
host cells response.
The applicant will join one of the top places for research in Europe. In this environment, the applicant
will have access to state-of-the-art facilities and equipment for conducting his/her research project,
including cat.3 lab, animal facility, and imaging, genomic and proteomic platforms.
Position Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline. Required knowledge and skills include microbiology, cellular and molecular biology and transcriptomic.
Additional experience in mouse models and/or in the TB field will be a plus. He/she must be able to
work as part of a team and foster a collaborative work environment. Applicants who do not meet these requirements will not be considered at any level of the review process.
