State University of New York, Albany Capital of New York Statebased on experiences and university salary scales
A postdoctoral position is available in the Chen group at Department of Biological Sciences, the State University of New York-Albany (SUNY-Albany), to study physiological and pathological roles of ion channels in the cardiovascular system (see featured research article in Science Signaling Vol. 4 Issue 176, ra37, 2011 and its Perspective in Science Signaling Vol. 4 Issue 184, pe35, 2011. http://www.albany.edu/biology/faculty/hchen/publications.shtml; Trends Pharmacol. Sci. Vol 35 (9), p461-9, 2014).
The NIH funded position is suitable for motivated candidates with a Ph.D. in biophysics, physiology, pharmacology, or a related discipline. We are particularly interested in candidates with experiences in cellular electrophysiology (patch-clamp techniques) in cardiomyocytes or smooth muscles or mammalian heterologous expression systems. The position provides the candidate to enhance their experiences on molecular and cellular physiology of ion channels.
To apply, send CV, a cover letter concisely indicating research interests and experiences, and contact information of three references by email to: hchen01@albany.edu.
