Post-doc Position in Nano-device Integration and VLSI Integrated Circuit Design

Job Description:We are looking for a post-doc/research scientist candidate to take on a multi-disciplinary project in the field of emerging nano-device modeling, design and integration for advanced VLSI circuit design at Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in Northwestern University. The candidate will exploit the unique features from emerging technology, such as non-volatile memory device, carbon-nanotube transistors and develop novel logic synthesis and circuit design technology to realize unprecedented functionality beyond conventional CMOS design. The candidate is expected to work in a highly inter-disciplinary design environment involving development from nano-device design, modeling to integrated-circuits design, automation and VLSI system development. The project provides unique opportunity for the candidate to develop an extensive expertise and publication record in both nanotechnology and IC design.
Qualification:
The ideal candidate should have demonstrated research expertise in two or more areas in the following categories.
(1) Emerging nano-device design and modeling, such as non-volatile memory device;
(2) Logic synthesis, design, timing analysis of VLSI circuits;
(3) Design automation and algorithm development for VLSI circuits;
(4) Design of digital signal processing VLSI circuits;
In addition, the candidate should be proficient in modern VLSI design tools and programming languages for modeling and design automation.
