Postdoctoral Position - Behavioral Health Postdoctoral Fellowship : Memphis, TN, United States
The faculty mentor for this position will be Dr.REBECCA A KRUKOWSKI. The Center for Population Sciences in the Department of Preventive Medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center is seeking applications for a postdoctoral fellowship position. We are interested in candidates with interest in developing and implementing interventions related to obesity or substance use (e.g., tobacco, alcohol). The fellow will primarily work with Drs. Robert Klesges, Zoran Bursac, Rebecca Krukowski, and/or Karen Derefinko. The postdoctoral fellow will work on funded grants that include obesity, smoking cessation, or alcohol interventions. The fellow will also have the opportunity to take the lead on their own projects and be mentored in both research publications and NIH grant writing. This position provides strong mentorship in a supportive, multi-disciplinary environment, and an excellent opportunity to further develop research skills and prepare for a career in academia or other research settings. This position will be for one year, and renewable for a second year, subject to first year productivity. The annual stipend will be based on the NIHPostdoctoral Research funding level.
Qualifications:
Requirements for this position include a doctorate (i.e., DrPH, Ph.D, MD/MPH) in a behavioral health field (e.g., psychology, public health, nutrition, preventive medicine). In addition, the fellow will have a research stipend of $5000.00 for professional activities (e.g., scientific meetings, publication costs). For fellows who require supervised clinical hours, research activities that count toward clinical hours and psychologist licensure would be provided. The ideal candidate will have strong writing, quantitative, and communication skills, and the ability to think creatively about research.
