Postdoctoral Research Assistant - Computational Neuroscience
University of Oxford - Department of Psychiatry
Warneford Hospital, Oxford
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to work on an MRC funded fellowship (awarded to Dr Michael Browning) assessing computationally defined cognitive processes in depressed patients and evaluating novel psychological and pharmacological approaches to the treatment of depression using these processes. The post is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital and is funded to 31 March 2020.
You will co-ordinate recruitment, as well as scheduling the assessment and training of participants, including conducting computer based neurocognitive assessments. You will assist in analysis of behavioural and physiological data from the studies, liaising closely at all times with Dr Browning to ensure smooth running of the study.
You will have or be working towards completion of a PhD in psychology, cognitive neuroscience or other relevant discipline. With a strong interest or experience in computational psychiatry, you will have experience of running psychological tasks on human participants, and an understanding of research design and experimental methods. Experience of developing and fitting computational models of behaviour would be an advantage as would experience of pharmacological and/or patient studies.
You will be required to upload a supporting statement explaining how you meet the selection criteria for the post, a CV, and details of two referees as part of your online application.
