Researchers are sought to work on an exciting collaborative research project to work on power systems protection and control of power grids using real-time power grid simulator.
Candidates for the post should have:
- A PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in FACTS and HVDC modelling using real-time power grid simulator.
- Relevant experience in developing testing bed for power systems including power system control, power electronic devices, and interacting with the power industry partner.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines.
- Good project management skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to deal with a variety of people at different levels.
The successful candidate should hold, or be near completion of a PhD in Electrical Power Systems. The post is available for an immediate start until the end of Feb 2017.
