Postdoctoral position available in Dr. Janghoo Lim’s lab in the Departments of Genetics and of Neuroscience at Yale University School of Medicine. We are seeking applicants interested in joining a dynamic and successful team that provides opportunity for individual development as well as collaboration. The main focus of the lab is to determine the molecular basis of cellular pathology in neurodegenerative diseases. In particular, the successful candidate will study the pathogenesis of polyglutamine diseases, including spinocerebellar ataxia type 1 and/or spinal and bulbar muscular atrophy. We employ a range of techniques and model systems, including molecular/cell biology, biochemistry, and genetics and genomics using cell culture (including patient-derived iPSC), fly and mouse models. The applicant should have experience in molecular/cell biology, biochemistry, neuroscience, and mouse genetics as well as good communication skills. The research environment at Yale is diverse with many opportunities to establish collaborations and interactions with scientists throughout the university.
