Description
The faculty mentor for this position will be Dr.KAFAIT U MALIK. Postdoctoral Position is available for a recent doctoral graduate to investigate the central neurohumoral and molecular mechanisms involved in hypertension. The work will involve central administration of various agents and viruses containing shRNA or DNA of different genes, measuring blood pressure by the radio-telemetry method, isolation of organs including brain, cutting sections and histological examination of tissues, SDS-PAGE, DNA and mRNA measurements by RT-PCR.
Qualifications
Recent Ph.D. or an equivalent doctoral degree in Neurosciences, Physiology, Pharmacology or Immunology, or a related field. Experience, as indicated by some publications, with the utilization of stereotaxic, molecular biology and immunohistochemical techniques. Experience with small animal surgery, and fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
Salary will be commensurate with relevant experience and based on the prevailing wage for postdoctoral research trainees set by the U.S. Department of Labor.
