Postdoctoral Associate : Stony Brook, NY, United States
Required Qualifications: PhD or foreign equivalent degree.Preferred Qualifications: PhD in Biological Science, related field, or foreign equivalent. Prefer expertise includes the following skills, but not limited to: cell culture, molecular and cell biology techniques, mouse handling, protein evaluation (immunoblotting and histology), confocal microscopy, quantitative image analysis, invasion, migration assay and multi-color flow cytometry.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigator (Dr. Joseph Kim) in the Department of Pathology/Surgery. The incumbent must possess a strong work ethic, scientific creativity and strong written and verbal communication skills. The laboratory is focused on understanding the role (signaling pathways and potential therapeutic avenues) of chemokine receptors in GI malignancies.
• Projects include, dissecting the signaling pathways of chemokine receptors and applying novel therapeutic candidates to GI cancer cells in vitro and in vivo.
• Participate in research data collection and documentation within relevant guidelines and protocols.
• Publish results in scientific journals, assist in grant applications, mentor students and resident, and participate in research meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.
