Postdoctoral Scientist : Toronto, Canada
The Department of Immunology invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow to join Dr. Tracy McGaha’s laboratory at The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto. The incumbent will study the role of metabolic pathway effectors in the context of autoimmune pathology and identify signalling pathways that can be targeted in autoimmune diseases such as lupus and type I diabetes. The successful applicant must have the following qualifications:
• Recent PhD graduate in biological or biomedical sciences
• Background in immunology is required and previous experience with autoimmune disease models is preferred
• Ability to work both independently and within a team
• Proficiency in working with mouse models of disease
• Strong experience in molecular biology and biochemistry techniques (DNA/RNA isolation, PCR and RT-PCR, bacterial transformation and plasmid isolation, Western blotting and ELISA)
• Excellent working knowledge of cell and tissue culture techniques (transfection, transduction, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence microscopy, immunohistochemistry, siRNA/shRNA knockdown, cell line generation)
• Experience with statistical analysis and data analysis software (e.g. GraphPad Prism, FlowJo)
