Seeking applicants for a Postdoctoral Fellow position in the laboratory of Dr. Aaron W. James within the Department of Pathology at Johns Hopkins University. Current research interests include: (1) murine models of bone repair, (2) defining the contribution of the peripheral nervous system in bone formation, pathology, and repair, and (3) the use of purified perivascular progenitor cells for bone healing. The PI, Dr. James, is a recently recruited Orthopaedic Pathologist and Assistant Professor at Johns Hopkins University with joint appointment within the UCLA Orthopaedic Hospital Research Center (OHRC). Close collaboration will be with the research group of Thomas Clemens (Vice Chair for Research in Orthopaedics and past Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research).
Candidates with experience in the field of bone biology and repair are preferred. Other desired skills include training in cell and molecular biology, flow cytometry and fluorescence activated cell sorting, animal handling or animal surgical procedures. International students / fellows will be considered, but are requested to come with complete funding and a one to two-year time commitment.
