　　Performs advanced research duties under the supervision/direction of a Principal Investigator.

　　This position is seeking a Postdoctoral Candidate to work in a lab at the convergence of RNA biology and cancer molecular biology. Prior RNA molecular biology experience is required, with previous experience in ribosome profiling, qPCR, translational control, making stable clonal cell lines, and a detailed knowledge of translational control, and RNA processing (specifically splicing and/or alternative polyadenylation) steps being particularly useful. This position will NOT involve work with animals.

　　Candidates will have the opportunity to do basic science research as they work in a translational research environment. They will learn and apply cutting edge methodologies to study how cytoplasmic capping and the FHIT tumor suppressor modulate the expression of the epitranscriptome in cancer and stress responses in the lab of Dr. Daniel Kiss.

　　Excellent organization, communication and critical thinking skills, the ability to work both independently and in a team-based environment, plus self-motivation are prerequisites. Ideal applicants will be eligible (and encouraged) to apply for independent postdoctoral fellowships. Postdocs belonging to underrepresented groups, non-traditional tracks, and those interested in eventually transitioning to industry positions are encouraged to apply.
