Post-doctoral Research Associate
The University of Edinburgh
A full-time post-doctoral researcher is sought to help deliver a project within an MRC-funded programme of research entitled “Leveraging routinely collected and linked research data to study the causes and consequences of common mental disorders”. The programme aims to deliver a series of discrete activities with the shared goal of building knowledge and methods required to build a UK-wide data sharing platform for mental health.
The specific project for which this post is advertised is “Evidence Based Guidelines for Mental Health Data Science”. The project focuses on gathering and characterizing stakeholder opinion on the ethics, risks and mechanisms of data sharing in mental health. The goal is to ensure stakeholder buy-in for the envisaged data sharing platform. Stakeholders will include people with lived experience of mental health conditions, their families and friends, clinicians and third-sector organisations.
This person will have direct day-to-day responsibility for the set up and running of the project including: recruitment and management of a stakeholder advisory board; creation and management of a database of candidate advisors; data collection on stakeholder opinion via survey, focus groups and interviews. The project will culminate in a national Delphi-study to derive recommendations for the data platform. The successful candidate will also participate in whole-programme activities such as project team meetings, and will contribute to dissemination of results at conferences and in journal publications.
We encourage applications from diverse candidates, including individuals who identify as neurodivergent.
It is hoped that interviews will be held w/c 30th July 2018.
